Today we’re releasing Version 3.14 for all editions of Jungle Disk. Our new version provides several performance improvements, and corrects issues reported by our customers in support tickets and forum postings. For a complete list of changes, please review our release notes.
You can download the new version now in our Download Center — or wait for us to enable automatic updates in the coming days. Once we do, Windows and Mac customers can upgrade to the new version by selecting “Check for Updates” from Jungle Disk’s Help Menu.

This is cryptic:
“Improved the user experience when restoring the backup vault of a different computer.”
I don’t see any change after upgrading. Also, it’s a bit frustrating that, in the restore dialog, the restore options are tucked away in their own dialog window. Why can these be always visible? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve restored files and forgot to turn off “Restore owner” and made a mess of my permissions.
A side note, I desperately want backup-on-file-modification, ala Dropbox. I have a directory full of very important documents that is added to every week or so. It would be so nice to have these documents backed up the moment they’re modified or created instead of having JD read the disk every 5 minutes for changes.
Other than those points, thanks for the update guys. Love your app, love your responsive support, love your pricing.

@Shaun – Thanks for the feedback…we can certainly look at those items for you. Regarding the backup scenario you suggest, we might recommend using the Sync option and do a 1-way sync. This will sense any new files/changes you have on the associated folder and replicate them in the cloud. That feature also takes advantage of versioning so it would seem that would meet your needs all the way around.

Thanks for the tip, Scott. I did not realize Sync had versioning. Is that accessed through the restore dialog?
I just setup the Sync folder and mistakenly chose “Make this folder match the network drive” and all my documents were wiped out without any kind of warning or prompt. That’s not good…

Hello,
I’m a French user and I would like to know if there will one day, a translated version of Jungle Disk?
Greetings

@Laurent The next platform has been designed with the option for localization, however, additional languages will not be part of our first release. We certainly do realize the value of supporting other languages and have this as a high priority.

@Scott,
At least for the resell program would be quite interesting if we could do translations by ourselves… I have offered myself to translate it into spanish but have received no response yet from Jungle Disk.

When will an Android version be available, similar to the iPhone?

Some nice changes. Well done.
When will you activate the automatic updates? I’m not sure if it’s just me, but for a lot of past releases, the automatic update feature didn’t show a new release.
I’m running JungleDisk Desktop 3.12 on Windows 7 x64.

I just “tried” to set up an account and inadvertantly set it for Server Edition and Workgroup Edition. When I tried to opt out of Server Edition, I could not, or didn’t know how, so I thought I could do so when I went to step 2. I couldn’t and got charged for both editions. I do not want both editions and “tried” to send an email and it kept taking me back to the email/password screen. I am not a sophisticated user and so don’t understand all the quirks of doing online business. Is there someone who can explain this to me? I am very frustrated!

Does this new version allow for files larger than 5GB for the WorkGroup Edition?
That is a show stopper for us compared to DropBox Pro.
Using the DropBox Application we can synch up any size of file and then it’s available to the team thru the web interface or thru their DropBox Application.
We need the ability to download larger than 5GB files from the web interface.

There’s nothing about that in the release notes for 3.14 or 3.15:

I wouldn’t want to download even 2GB in an un-aided Web browser, let alone more than 5GB. They probably don’t allow it for reliability reasons. One little hiccup and you start over. They’d probably have to release some kind of extension/add-on that has sensible error-checking and retry capabilities.
