Jungle Disk 2.62a is now available for download. This update fixes several minor issues, the most urgent being a compatibility fix for the upcoming Snow Leopard OSX release. The full list of changes is below:
- Fixed network drive mounting on OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
- Fixed XML parsing issue on Linux that resulted in RPC error messages
- Fixed possible segfault on shutdown in Linux
- Fixed possible Windows Explorer hang on network drive
- Fixed move/rename of files with incorrect case on Windows
- Added impersonation support to improve compatibility of network share backup
- Added support for restoring to password protected network shares
You can download the new version using the links below. We will enable the automatic update feature on Wednesday if you’d prefer to update that way instead.
While this is only a minor update, rest assured we have some amazing new things in development which we’ll be talking about soon.

What I would like to see is a good interface to seeing what the linux version of jungledisk (not the monitor) is doing, particularly when connected to multiple remote disks.
A command line too which shows some stats would be very useful as would a web interface.
Also it would be handy to be able to configure JD on a server without X without having to build the config elsewhere.

James – we’ve got some developments coming in that area that should address your issues.

I still haven’t gotten the auto-update option for 2.62a. And when I click “Check for Updates” it says it is up to date. Is that normal?

We just rolled it out this morning – you should see it now if you check for updates.

I don’t know if anybody else has gotten this issue, but my drive names are no longer showing up as the names i designate them in the configure pane. Instead, they just show up as local.JungleDisk.com and local.JungleDisck.com-1.
I just updated to Snow Leopard and used a time machine backup to restore all my data and preferences.

That would be great — I have 3 backups running on an Ubuntu server and it would be great to be able to poll it to see the progress. (The email reports are usefulable but only occur when there is a success of failure.)

Now that I’m on Snow Leopard and using 2.62a, my network drive doesn’t mount automatically, and in fact only is mounted when JungleDiskMonitor is running… Is that normal now or did I miss something when I updated the Jungle Disk software?

That is expected – in Snow Leopard, we can’t mount the drive from the background service and have it appear on your desktop due to changes made in Finder. You’ll need to run Jungle Disk Monitor to have the drive mounted automatically.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the quick answer!

Why can’t we purchase software at a one time cost any longer? I was going to suggest it to clients.

A number of the features both in the current and future versions of Jungle Disk require a subscription to support, so rather than offer a cut-down product for one-time purchase we decided to move to a simple flat rate subscription.
