James - we've released source code that demonstrates how the Jungle Disk encryption works, and verifies that your files are encrypted only using your personal, private key.
As for keeping the key - we have no interest and no need to keep it.

I like Jungle Disk.
I'm trying to promote it to the folks at work but they are synical.
How can I convince them the data is really secure sitting on Amazon's servers?
I know it's encrypted before it leaves my workstation and uses a SSL transport to get to S3 but ...
How can I prove to them the keys are REALLY only known to me and Jungle doesn't
keep a separate copy in their top desk drawer?
Thanks,
J

[...] Jungle Disk is like traditional software in that it is downloaded and run by your desktop computer. It gives a point-and-click interface to select which files and folders to back up and over what schedule (if any). The above screenshot was taken during an (easy-peesy) initial backup of my Documents folder in version 2.02 [...]

Awesome stuff guys!

You know I'm having a hard time dealing with other software developers after using JD ... none of them compare to your guys level of support, commitment, and communication :)

Keep up the good work!

I love your products and plan on using them (eventually) in my production application. When will you support the workgroup client installed as a service?

Thanks!

Thanks for the info about the problems with UTF8 characters. It is encouraging to see that they fixed the issue in the same day you posted on their boards!

You can just install over the current version, your config is kept intact (the one exception is the USB version - make sure you don't extract the default config over your existing configuration).

What's the process to upgrade to a new version - Uninstall then Full Install? Is all config kept?
