Great! I’ve been using the beta for the past weeks and have loved it!
I tell many people about this great backup app. I even gave a speech about it at a Toastmaster’s club a month ago. Keep up the great work! -Erik

I agree — the new website is quite nice and I’m glad to see 2.0 hit the streets. Meanwhile, I’m still busy playing with the workgroup edition and trying to figure out if it is the right way to go for multiple family users …

The 2.0 configuration dialog is a great improvement.
I’m currently updating my bucket to 2.0 format, though you should state the differences between 1.0 and 2.0 buckets more clearly in my view. What do I gain?
Although it’d been nice to choose European location when upgrading the bucket, because I understood that the bucket will be transferred anyways.

You can read more about the differences in this blog post:
http://blog.jungledisk.com/2008/02/19/buckets-buckets-everywhere/
To get a European bucket you will need to create a new one. We can’t transfer data between the US and EU datacenters for free, which is why it’s not available as part of the bucket upgrade process.

Thanks for letting me know.
However, I guess the speed difference at the end of the day is not really worth implementing it.
You could however offer European buckets when upgrading for those willing to pay

The new Jungle Disk is causing severe problems on my XP system. Files won’t upload (error reading from network drive) any more, Jungle Disk slows downs/freezes the whole system, upgrade to 2.0 bucket failed, etc.
Could you please provide a download link for a previous version of Jungle Disk? The old version was running perfectly, I’d like to continue using it.

@sam – I’d like to help troubleshoot your issues in the support forum, but you can download the old version from:

These are all great features but I’m still waiting for the ability to utilize more than one s3 account with Jungle Disk. Please add that feature to your next version. It will make many of us happy.

@Brian – Jungle Disk 2.0 allows you to use multiple S3 accounts. Just click the “Add Bucket” link in the configuration dialog. Note that you will need one Jungle Disk license for each S3 account you use.

It seems that after I upgrade an encrypted bucket to version 2, the new bucket is not encrypted. In the bucket properties I can then encrypt the new bucket, but I am told that any existing files in the bucket are not encrypted.
Does this mean that all my files from the original bucket are now not encrypted in the bucket? I hope this is not the case, since this is a significant security issue that should have been mentioned when I chose to upgrade the bucket. Simply deleting and re-uploading the files is not a secure option.
Jungle Dave said,

@Mark – No, all your original files are still encrypted. If you want newly uploaded files in the new bucket to be encrypted you need to set a bucket password on the encryption settings.

So how come everybody’s heard of Mozy and Carbonite, but not Jungle Disk? And the price is right, too. As soon as my Mozy subscription expires (and they just raised the price) I’ll be here for a fresh approach.

A friend just told me about your site. If you could back up the data on my phone (my address book worries me the most) I’d be one happy camper. Is there an app for that?

Jungle Disk offers a lot, with scheduled online backups, folder syncing, and a shared drive, but it’s a bit more confusing and complicated than it needs to be.

What a great product. I like your pricing, too.
I knew of Carbonite, it was just discussing it with someone and how I need to get it. But, now I am looking at your product. I know I need it.
Thanks!
