Jungle Disk 2.0 Beta 3 (1.99c) Released

An updated version of the Jungle Disk 2.0 beta is now available for download. A number of fixes are included as well as some minor features. You can see all the changes in the release notes.

This version also includes the command line Linux client for the first time, which now supports the same automatic backup features as the GUI version. We’re still working on documentation for the XML configuration file, so for the time being we recommend creating your configurations using the GUI client.

    I’m using Linux client junglediskmanager, and on configure screen “Show Advanced Options” is Enabled ([X] there) and disabled state (can’t change it to Disabled [ ]). Is there reason why I can’t change it?

    Hello,

    Wow what a great product !! Looking forward to the workgroup version. I have a few comments below :-

    1) Can’t see anyway to convert a Bucket from 1.0 to 2.0 ?

    2) They don’t seem to be anyway to tell the client to remove files after so long after the file has been removed. I believe there is only a option to keep so many versions.

    3) All the first upload of files give some very strange readings 400+ Kbit/s (4 mb) instead of 40 kbit/s which seems to happen at other times.

    Hope this helps.

    Ian

    @Ian -
    #1 - Make sure you have advanced options checked in the configuration, then select the bucket. You should see the option.
    #2 - Not sure what you mean by this. Please post more details to the fourm.

    Tried posting these comments in you forum but it seems broken which is why I posted here the other day.

    Thanks for comment on point 1, on point 2 I also use the Home server version and there is a option in there saying ‘Remove deleted files from online backup after’ I can’t see this option in the beta ? Did you have any comments on option 3.

    cheers
    Ian

    #2 - This is controlled by the combination of your previous versions settings and the “remove deleted files..” option under the Backup options

    #3 - 400kbit/sec is not 4mbps (that would be 4000kbps). 400kbps is a pretty typical upload speed.
