We recently created a customized version of Jungle Disk for the new Windows Home Server platform coming out this fall. We’re planning on offering the Windows Home Server version of the software later this year when the first home server devices start shipping. For more information on the Windows Home Server edition of Jungle Disk see our new Windows Home Server FAQ page.
Don’t worry - this hasn’t distracted us from development on the core desktop version of Jungle Disk. In fact, a new desktop release will be coming soon with several highly requested features that were built along side the Windows Home Server version and will be available for all platforms - including multi-version backup and integrated restore for easily restoring large amounts of data. More information about the next release will be announced shortly.

Jungle Disk 1.43 is now available for download. This version mainly fixes a number of minor issues that users have run into recently, but one important fix involving high CPU usage is included so we recommend all users upgrade. Here is a short list of the changes in this version:
- Fixed high CPU usage after system sleep or network connection loss
- Fixed crash on Ubuntu Gusty beta
- Fixed occasional missing tray icon on Gnome desktops
- Fixed proxy authentication with SSL enabled
- System sleep on Mac is now disabled while a backup is in progress, but display dimming is still allowed
You can find the full list in the release notes.
The next release will be focused on features as described in our recent roadmap post.
Also, a note for those still running beta versions of Jungle Disk - we will soon be disabling the beta version of the software as it has been over a month since the non-beta release. Please upgrade to the release version! We do not expire release versions of the software - you are free to continue running older versions if you like, however we do recommend users upgrade to get the latest features and fixes (and all upgrades are free to paid users!)

A few months back Amazon made an update to allow you to change your AWS Secret Key on demand. By default, Jungle Disk encrypts files using your AWS Secret Key (this can be changed to a custom key in the encryption options). Note that if you use the default setting and later change your AWS Secret Key, you need to keep a copy of your previous key in the decryption keys list in Encryption Options. This will allow you to decrypt files that were uploaded using your old key. You should also keep a copy of the key in a safe place in case you need to re-install the software. We’ve posted a reminder about this on our Encryption help page.
