Jungle Disk 1.13 Beta Released!

I’m pleased to announce that a new version of Jungle Disk is now available for download.

This version includes a number of highly requested features as well as some tweaks and minor fixes based on user feedback. Highlights include:

  • HTTP Proxy Support
  • Support for user-specified encryption keys
  • Support for file names/paths > 255 characters in length
  • Configuration options for cache directory and max cache size
  • Configuration file keys protected using DPAPI on Windows and Keychain on OSX

You can read about the rest of the changes in the release notes. There is also a new FAQ available, based on the most common questions I received on the forums and via e-mail. The automatic backup and file sync features that were originally planned for this version have been pushed back to the next release in order to get these highly requested features out sooner.

The first beta of Jungle Disk was very well received, especially by the Mac community - in fact, over 40% of Jungle Disk installs have been of the Mac version! I’m also happy to report that based on feedback from several thousand beta users, Jungle Disk has already achieved a very high level of stability. In fact, no major crash or stability issues have been reported to date (how unusual is that for the first beta of anything!). Most of the issues that have been reported are due to DAV-client specific issues, which we have documented in the release notes or worked around in the code where possible.
